Blog #13 poetic imagery
I love how the poem Freeway 280 is with its use of description. The writers uses many good metaphors and other literary devices to creat imagrey. When the author talks about how the highway has hid all of the flowers she says it is a raised scar, like the highway just sat on the flowers and they are trying to push it off. The author also talks about how the highway was suppose to help her get out, but instead it taught her to love beauty.

I think also she first saw the highway as a means of escape, as many of us look for a way out when we are young. Then she realized that the highway was also a means of getting back home again, back to her roots and her culture.
